Forgot Password

Q: The "Forgot Password" link is not working. What is wrong?

A: To determine why the forgotten password link is not working, please follow these steps:

  1. Open TRAIN TRACK and from the menu bar, select "Report/Send > Automatic Email".
  2. Verify the mail server settings, and make sure the "Send Test Message to Email" address is one you have access to.
  3. Click "Send Test Message".
  4. Open the email account and verify the test message was delivered.
If the test message was not delivered, then there is an issue with your email server settings. If it was delivered, please follow these steps:

  1. Open TRAIN TRACK and from the menu bar, select "Users > View/Edit".
  2. Locate the user who was unable to click the "Forgot Password" link and click on the user name.
  3. Verify that the correct employee name is associated with the user.
  4. From the menu bar, select "Employee" and click on the employ name.
  5. Verify that the correct email address is listed for the employee.
If you are still unable to reset passwords, try a login name that is not over 20 characters and a password that is not over 15 characters. If this resolves your issue, you may need an update that allows for longer login names and passwords.
