Q: How do I set up my SMPT Mail Server for use with a gmail account?
A: SMPT Outgoing mail server: mtp.gmail.com
Mail Login User Name: ___________@gmail.com*
Mail Login Password: enter the password for your gmail account
Mail from address: __________@gmail.com*
send alerts to address: enter the email address where you would like to receive alerts
server port: 465
Does your server require authentication: Yes
You will also need to change your google account settings to "Allow Less Secure" Apps or you will receive the following error: "The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server was not available.
*because "less secure apps" must be enabled to use the email notification features with gmail, be sure to create a dedicated gmail account solely for TRAIN TRACK email notifications
