Import Range Error
Q: I am trying to import my employee list into TRAIN TRACK® using the Web interface, but I am getting the error: "The Microsoft® Access® database engine could not find the object 'ImportRange'....."
A: This is likely a format issue with the template you are trying to import. Please export/download a fresh template from the Import screen in TRAIN TRACK® and copy/paste your data there. Please remember to set the named range on your spreadsheet prior to importing. Here are the instructions on how to set a named range:
1. Open the import spreadsheet in Excel.
2. Go to the "Formulas" tab on the ribbon and click "Name Manager".
3. At the bottom of the pop-up window, next to "refers to", click the up arrow.
4. Your spreadsheet should show a green dashed blinking line around the import area. If this area does not include your data, it will not be imported.
5. Select the correct area (including the column headers, even if there is no data below them), and close the pop-up window. Save the sheet and import again.
