Error that there is already a user with the username I am trying to add but they are not on my user list

Q: I am trying to add a new user but keep getting error "There is already a user with that name. Please select another user name." but I don't see another user with that username on the Active or Inactive user list.

A: Please try searching for that username using the User Search function (Users > Search Users). If the employee was deleted, their username is hidden and can only be found when using the search function. Once you locate them, you can make the user record active or edit that username to be able to reuse the original username for another employee.
