Q: I am getting an error when trying to open training records, open some reports, or export a report to Excel that says, "The query has been canceled because the estimated cost of this query (xx) exceeds the configured threshold of 3000. Contact the system administrator." How can I resolve this?

A: This error may be caused by training records that have a NULL grace period and/or release date. Please review your training list and make sure all records have both a grace period and release date listed.

If you are using the Desktop interface, downloading a fresh copy and importing your data may also resolve this issue.

Less frequently, this could be caused  by a date that is out-of-range. For example, someone may have entered a training release date or exception by hire-date-range in the year 2200 or 220 instead of 2020 by accident.
