Install a new Desktop version
1. Find your current version of TRAIN TRACK. Unless the default settings were changed, your database would be called TRAINTRACK10.mde and located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\TRAINTRACK\Desktop\10.x.x
2. For safety purposes, copy that database to a new folder called, for example, “Backup.”
3. Download the attached .zip folder and right click to “Extract All” – save the new file, also called TRAINTRACK10.mde to the Desktop
4. Double click to launch the new file – in the pop-up window, select “Import Data from a Previous Version”
5. Browse to the location of your previous version of TRAIN TRACK, click OK and then click import.
6. Depending on your security settings and the location of the file, you may receive a large number of security warnings, carefully click “open” on each one until you are asked to confirm the import of training information for _____ employees, click “yes” and then click through the remaining warnings.
7. Once imported either select “compact and repair” from the menu bar or, close and re-open TRAIN TRACK
8. Click through your training records and verify that the data was completed successfully
9. Once you are satisfied, move your new TRAIN TRACK file into the same location as your previous file – and chose “Replace the file in this destination”
10. You may now use the updated file.
