TRAIN TRACK"

Can't import from a previous version

Q: When I try to import my data from a previous version, I get a message saying that it didn't work and to try again. I tried again and the same thing happened. What should I do?

A: This may be caused by an overflow error due to a date in your database TRAIN TRACK can't recognize, such as "1/1/122". Open your old database and look through your records for any outlying dates. Remove these dates, then try the import again. You will need to review your employee start and end dates and training completion dates. If you have limited requirements by hire date range, check those dates as well.

When importing from Desktop to Client, check your hyperlinks for values containing hashtags.

If you have photos in your database or a large amount of data, Access may be unable to import your data into a new version due to the size of your database.

Occasionally, when the import is aborted, the process will leave something behind that prevents it from running the next time. Replacing your user interface file with a fresh copy will usually fix this issue. Just replace the file in your new installation (do not replace the one you are importing data from). Always make a backup of both files before you make any major changes.
