Exam is not available but training is needed (Web Edition)
Q: When an employee logs in to take an exam, the exam is not available from the drop-down list, but it should be. I have checked all of the following:
- The training is listed as needed on the status screen.
- The "Exam Required" box is checked on the training detail screen.
- There are exam questions and answers.
A: This may occur if the Due date of the training is 30 days or less away as the exam dropdown will only display training that is due or expiring within the next 30 days. This could also happen if the user name for the logged-in user is not associated with the employee name for the employee who needs to take the exam. To verify that the user is associated with the correct employee:
1. From any screen, when the Exam-level user is logged in, at the top right corner of the screen, locate "You are logged in as:" and make a note of the exact user name.
2. Log in as an administrator user, and from the menu bar, select "Users".
3. From the "Edit Users" screen, locate the login name that you noted above and click on it.
4. On the User Detail screen, make sure the correct employee name is selected (or select it and click "Save Changes").
If you have done this, and the user still cannot see the correct exams, open the User Detail screen and delete the user record (NOT the employee record) and re-add it. This often fixes the issue.
