Q: How do I link the data tables using the Linked Table Manager?

A: Instructions for using the Linked Table Manager (note: requires a full version of Access)

  1. Open the Linked Table Manager, and check the box at the bottom "Always prompt for new location".
  2. Click "Select All".
  3. Click "OK".
  4. In the pop up window select the ‘Machine Data Source’ tab and choose New.
  5. Select SQL Native Client as your driver (from the bottom of the list). Click Finish.
  6. In the “Create New Data Source’ window enter "TTSERV" as the DSN.
  7. In the third box, select the appropriate SQL server from the drop down menu.
  8. Click "Next".
  9. Select ‘With Integrated Windows Authentication,” click Next.
  10. Check “Change the default database to” and select the correct database from the pull-down menu.
  11. Click "Next" on each screen until you can click the "Finish" button.
  12. Click "Test data source".
