Exception by Location

Q: I want to have a training required for all employees in specific job titles, except those at one location. How do I do this?

A: To make an exception to a training requirement by location, using the Client interface, please follow these steps:

  1. From the Ribbon, “Lookup Lists” tab, select “Job Titles”. A pop-up screen will open.
  2. At the bottom of the pop-up screen, type in a new job title to refer to everyone at the location you want to make a training exception for.
  3. Click “Add”.
  4. From the navigation pane on the left, click “Employee List”.
  5. In the Employee List, locate an employee and double-click to open the detail record.
  6. Select to show “Jobs/Roles > Additional Job Titles”.
  7. Under Additional Job Titles, select the new job title. Repeat for each employee in this group.
  8. From the navigation pane on the left, click “Training List”.
  9. In the Training List, locate the training. Double-click to open the detail record.
  10. Select to show “ Requirements > Exceptions > by Job Title”.
  11. Select the new job title.

The employees with the new job title assigned will no longer be required to complete the training.
