Set Trusted Location in Access
Q: I get a security warning when I open TRAIN TRACK that I cannot bypass. How can I resolve this?
A: You will need to designate your database as a trusted file. To do this, set the location where the file is stored as a trusted location.
If you have Access 2010 or better, follow these steps:
- Open MS Access (without opening TRAIN TRACK).
- Activate File tab on the Ribbon.
- Select Options near the bottom of the menu.
- Select Trust Center in the left navigation panel.
- Click on Trust Center Settings on the right.
- Select Trusted Locations on the left.
- Check off Allow Trusted Locations on my network
- Click on Add New Location
- Click on Browse
- Locate and select the Folder where TRAIN TRACK is installed and click OK
- Check off "Subfolders of this location are also trusted" and click OK
- Check off "Allow Trusted Locations on my network" and click OK
- You should now be able to open TRAIN TRACK
If you get an error that you do not have permission to add the selected path to your Trusted Locations, try entering the server name or IP address before the name of the drive (\\ServerName\Drive:\FolderName/FolderName)
