Upload a file in the Web Edition
Q: How do I allow users to upload files to TRAIN TRACK?
A: In the Web interface, you may link a file to each employee record, or you may upload a file to attach to each training record. This file will be available for employees who are assigned to that training to view before they complete the exam.
In order for all licensed TRAIN TRACK users to be able to upload documents successfully, please follow these steps:
1. From the server where TRAIN TRACK is installed, browse to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\TRAINTRACK, or the folder where your web pages are installed. Locate the "Upload" folder.
2. Right-click and select "Properties". Go to the "Security" tab and make sure that all Licensed TRAIN TRACK users (or your TRAIN TRACK user group) have "Full Control" for this folder.
3. Make sure the IUSR has "Full Control" for this folder.
4. On the client machine, browse to c:\windows\temp.
2. Right-click and select "Properties". Go to the "Security" tab and make sure that the user has "Full Control" for this folder.
3. Make sure the IUSR has "Full Control" for this folder..
4. From SQL Management Studio, verify that the IUSER (as well as your Windows users) has been granted datareader and datawriter permission for your TRAIN TRACK database.
Extremely long file names may not open from the link. Try shortening the file name before uploading.
This information only applies to the installed (not the Hosted) Web Edition.
