ODBC--Call Failed when adding an employee record
Q: I'm getting the error message:
ODBC--Call Failed [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] Cannot insert explicit value for identity value for column in 'tblStaff' when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to OFF. (#544)
It happens when I try to add a new employee record. How can I fix this?
A: This can happen when you lose your ODBC connection to the back-end database. You can try closing and re-starting TRAIN TRACK. If that does not fix it, you will need to run the Linked Table Manager to refresh your table links.
- From the ribbon, Database Administration tab, select "Linked Table Manager" (In version 10, go to the Start Menu, Database tab).
- Click "Select All".
- Click "OK".
You should see a message that all linked tables were refreshed.
